Jim’s past experience includes 20 years in corporate sales and management positions with some of the largest technology companies in the world, including Wang Laboratories, IBM Corporation, Corporate Software and Technology, and Connected Corporation.

By developing and managing customer relationships, and collaborating with colleagues within these world-class organizations, Jim refined his ability to actively listen, analyze, prospect, troubleshoot and strategize – skills that have made him successful in the competitive real estate business. His natural talent combined with his significant sales experience makes him an invaluable member of the Commonwealth Estates team.

Jim has spent the last twelve years in the real estate industry growing Commonwealth Estates into a top-performing firm.  With his leadership, the company has successfully blended Jim’s sales and marketing experience with his brother, Mike Palmer’s 30 years of real estate building and development expertise.

Today, this unique realtor/builder team works tirelessly for its clientele in the Greater Boston area, providing expert real estate representation with a unique approach: there’s no such thing as a perfect home, but Commonwealth Estates can help clients envision and create their own dream home.  This customized approach has been published in the Boston Globe and other area publications.

Born in Chicago, IL, raised in New Canaan, CT, and having spent his early adult years living in Weston, MA, and eventually attending Northeastern University, Jim and his family now live in Medfield.

In addition to servicing his clients, he spends his time coaching his sons’ hockey and baseball teams, and serving on the Board of Health Lyme Disease Committee for the town of Dover.  Jim also enjoys playing hockey, fresh and saltwater fishing, sailing, skiing, cooking, and the great outdoors.
